hi there,

posted a post in the workshop part, regarding several cracks in my trek frame
the frame is a fuel ex 6.5 2009 frame, there are a few cracks around the non drive side drop out, and along 3/4 of the length of one of the brake mounts at the back.

I hear alot of stuff that people have had cracks in their trek frames

anyone know roughly how long it will take, and what trek are like with warranties.
I've sent it off to my LBS, and hes told me hes sent the info to trek, but doesn't know how long it will be.

Just wondered if anyone would have an idea, as i have a biking holiday in 3 weeks.

Tom

ask the shop but i think you will not be using your bike.

If he doesn't know, I doubt we will ;-)

    I'd guess at a month.

To quote myself in your other topic
As I can't see the photos, I can't give a definite answer, but what usually happens is the bike shop will take photos, log a claim with Trek and there will usually be a replacement part within 2 weeks for you.

Not a lot can really be done at 7pm on a Friday evening, but if you give the bike shop a call on Monday maybe they can chase Trek and get an ETA for replacement parts

Trek have lifetime warranties on the frames, don't they? I've just been chatting with my LBS about them as he was trying to persuade me to get a Remedy over a Canyon.

Let me guess. Your LBS is a Trek dealer?

Of course he is, I wouldn't expect him to say any different. I've got a lot of time for him so I gave him the chance to see what deal he could do for me (and it was actually very good) but I've still just clicked "Buy" on the Canyon.
