Kona Stab Dope / Avid Codes

Hi

Im currently riding a Kona Stab supreme (06 i think), with the older style D.O.P.E system (as in this picture http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/4062 ... 171mz9.jpg) and I recently acquired a set of 2010 avid codes to use on it.

At the moment the front doesnt fit on the 888 VF2's, but i think this is just an issue with not having the correct mount.

However, the caliper doesnt seem to fit on the rear mount at all (The disc is too big/mount too small), and dont see how a different mount can be made/found. Yet my old brakes (clarkes skeletals) fitted perfectly, are the distances between the mounting holes and the pads not the same between brake manufacturers.

Has anyone come across this before? Was the original D.O.P.E system made to fit only one type/older types of caliper. Is it possible to run any caliper on the D.O.P.E system? As at the moment the only way round it I see is to create some kind of spacers to bring it to correct place.

Thanks
Jack

Put washers/spacers/nuts etc under the caliper to increase its height, albeit that you might need to use longer bolts as well.

Alternatively, buy a PM to PM adaptor which does the same job as the washers/spacers/nuts.

Or, are you saying that the rear mount is not a 74mm c2c Post Mount?
