Currently running a m770 rapid rise long cage.. But now run a single ring up front so going to go medium cage....... Been looking at xt mechs but there's quite a few but don't know the difference. All seem to be the same price too

So which do I go for? And what's different?

I can't compare these in particular but generally 1x10 goes with a short cage rear mech if there is a large enough range in it.

Any of the 9 speeds there.

Essentially, a shadow, RR or non shadow are your choices.

I never got on with the Shadow so stuck a short standard XT on.

What's wrong with the shadow? That was going to be my first choice. Can you push through the gears like the rapid rise?

Well obviously it works in the opposite way to RR, but I just found it a bit 'floppy', too many linkages for me.
But plenty of other people swear by them, so it might just be me.

Really? I had the exact opposite experience with the shadow mechs.

It must just be me then.
