Can brake cables be used as gear cables too? Or is there a difference?
And could someone please link me to some good gear cables and brake hoses front and rear? Or name some? At an affordable price.
If possible I'd like some red cables/hoses.
Cheers guys.

no. different fitting and thicknesses and construction.
the other part is buying so ask in the buying section."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

You can use brake outer cable as gear cable housing with no problems, its slightly bigger so the cables run super smooth inside it but you will have to run a proper inner gear cable as nick says, the 2 are completely different and not compatible.0

You can but they are designed differently for a reason, so you can have problems.

Simple answer. Gear cables are constructed in a way that the outers resist compression. Brake cables are built in a way they DO compress so as to give feel to the braking action0 -
