Just picked up this little sweetie for my summer's bike park riding.

Spesh Big Hit 2 - basically as standard for stem (slightly ugly Deity thing) and bar - RF Atlas AM. Currently has some slightly less than attractive (to me) pedals on, original turd brown saddle and a Maxxis Larsen TT rear and front Spesh Clutch tyre.

Gonna give it a service, swap some tyres round, chuck on new grips and consider some other upgrades (suggestions welcome!) - hope to ride her a week friday night

I have the 2010 Bighit 2 in blue. Only taken it out once and managed to crash quite hard. Bike's fine, 2 weeks on and I'm still sore. Min's got 180mm totems with a Fox DHX4 shock. So plush and I can't wait to get back out on it. Also fitted Hope M4 brakes with 203 mm rotors, as wasn't too keen on the XT. Rakes that were fitted.

Domain 302's - might need a service but feel OK.

Brakes are Juicy Four's - again I think one needs a bit of a bleed but nothing I cant do myself.

I plan to nab a spare bike stand from the shop at work, pull it apart, clean, lube, bleed etc as needed. Got some cheap mildly used grips to swap over. Bike park opens this weekend but I am working so have to wait for a proper ride.

So I got my bike dirty at the bike park this evening and she performed great.

Bottomless suspension, good in the air, good riding position, pedals OK (bit wallowy but what do you expect). I feel like the bars could be a tad wider, the Juicy 3's were surprisingly good or at least worked as much as I needed them too. I put on some ESI grips the other day and they were good, comfortable enough, especially compared to a mid range lock on but failed to stop my hands tensing up like claws after a good top to bottom run.

Some more pics post grubbying up:

Front Tyre - Specialised Clutch SX - amazing grip, even on roots!29062012407.jpg
Back tyre - may need a rethink - too flimsy a carcass for DH I think and limited grip 29062012406.jpg

Well I finally sold my old Big Hit on to a teenage kid - hope he enjoys riding it and glad to have moved it on. Didn't get a whole lot for it but at least its not the white elephant in the room any more!
