Ride to the Horns - guidance please

Am thinking about doing probasbly the shorter of the 2 options at Ride to the Horns in a couple of weeks - two different circuits totalling around 55 miles. I've seen some conflicting info re climbs and the total elevation, and despite dropping a note into the organisers I haven't heard back. Has anyone done the shorter option?

All info on the severity of the new shorter route is much appreciated, as I am very short of longer rides this year..... Thanks!

I've not ridden the 55 mile route, but neither part of it looks particularly hilly. Two ascents of Tom's Hill is about all there is in terms of climbs:
