Sorry, there's no norks and no inuendos in this this post, but at least I'm not dissing our latest graduand (congrats by the way!). It's more of a cake stop post really, so no doubt it'll get shifted there, even though I want it posted here as everyone is in the BB whilst the poor old cake stop is like one of those cavernous city centre pubs that tends to get busy 'later on' but if you go in at 3 pm on a Tuesday, you feel a little lost at the 100 m long bar, it doesn't quite feel the same as you remember but there's some good memories of being there. Anyway, to my point...

We had a few professionals round our way at the weekend and I must admit they put on a good show (and I got loads of free Haribo). But what is it with them screwing up the Strava leader boards? I'm here busily planning next Saturdays ride and looking at the segments. Only to find that Laurens ten Dam has been busily bagging them all with absolutely no chance of me getting any KOMs! Over 20 km/h for the whole climb and only dropping to 19 km/h on a 1km, 10.1% climb FFS!:cry: Maybe I shouldn't have eaten all those Haribo like the porky git I am!!

I wouldn't be suprised if Strava turns out to be a fad to be honest soon to fade away.

    er ist ein grosse scheisse.

That last link looks like you've got no chance - can't you poke him in the eye or something. Anyway if anyones going to reclaim KOM my money's on dark horse Michel Van Gyzel. :D
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

My only Strava claim to fame is that on my commute home from work I'm KOM on this segment http://app.strava.com/segments/1563199 and Michael Schär (BMC) is second! He kicks my ass on every other segment round here though!

I don't think I'll bother with Strava. I think it will end up depressing me.

Do it, if nothing else it serves as a reality check!

As they say in these parts "Carbon statt Kondition!"

-Look! Another one is coming up!

    -Yeah, another one.

    -He's grafting...see, how he's fighting.

    -Come on fight! Come on!

-He's got a totally red head, the poor guy.

-So what!? That doesn't hurt him.

-But he's got an expensive bike…

    -…got an expensive one.

-Carbon instead of condition, right!? Go!, Go!

Kinda reminds you that even the best of us here are shite when compared to the Professionals. :D

Keep it up though; you're a worthy opponent for yourself!

Not using Strava, seems like setting yourself up for fails, anxiety, self doubt and lack of direstion. it like being married a long time I s'pose.

I don't use Strava, I merely follow the wheels of those who do, then pip them to the top.

The segments on RideWithGPS are mildly interesting, but really only to see if I'm quicker than last time...
But winning a drinks bottle from them (And they shipped it from the US at $7.50) for the most climbing in the shortest distance... Thank you 3 Epic Scottish MTB routes in a week... I'm now logging everything just incase they do another competition I don't notice.
    Do Nellyphants count?
