Hi all
really simple question, I now use my bike for commuting to work and as such ensure my wheels are linked to my D-lock by a cable however I take my QR seat off just-in-case however wanted to get a locking seat post clamp to save the hassle.
I've been looking at the Hope ones however I'm not sure what size I need, my seat post is 27.2 yet the clamp clamps onto the frame seat tube over the post therefore I assume I'd need to Hope version with internal diameter to suit the frame opening?

seat post size have very little to do with seat clamp size.
you need the same size as the seat tube. which is often the same as the front mech size and can often be seen stamped on the underside of the current seat post clamp."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cheers guys...looks like a bit of old fashioned measuring is the best bet then, didnt know if a fellow cindecone owner might have known to save me ordering the wrong one.
i guess if I order one slightly too large it's not the end of the world as I can tighten down, but always best to get it bang-on really aint it.0 -

I'd be surprised if you'd be able to tighten it down that much - your best bet is still either the number stamped on the existing clamp or a vernier caliper, followed by a trip to the LBS if neither of those pay offSpecialized Roubaix Elite 2015

So the size of the clamp I need will be the external diameter of the frame seat post entry?0

For anyone else with a similar query...the original Kona thumb QR was stamped '32' so I bought the Hope as a 31.8 and fit perfecto... 8)0
