I realise the whole Canyon v Rose thing has probably been done to death, but I'd still appreciate any opinions on these 2 models.

To me the Canyon seems the safer option as I've only read good things about the frame, but I do like that I can change stuff on the Rose with the configurator (firstly by getting rid of the red stuff).

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Would have made more sense putting sram red on that Rose

Canyon certainly seem to be notching up some impressive results with the Katusha team this year

Can't speak for the Rose bike but the Canyon CF SLX is a very nice bike for the money.

It feels extremely light compared with my other bike, a Boardman Team Carbon. Comfort is definitely aided by the seat post. The bike also feels much stiffer than the Boardman. Dura Ace is way more slick that the SRAM Rival on my Boardman.

I did have an issue with my Canyon (small dent in the top tube on the frame) but it was sorted out OK, though there is obviously a bit of waiting involved getting a new one due to the transit issue. I've now ended up with an Aeroad CF 9.0.

I put the same wheels on my Boardman TC and they transformed the whole bike. It is OE Ritchey wheels that are not too stiff, not the frame.

That said, that Canyon is a sexy looking bit of kit with a nice spec.

    Thanks guys.

I was originally after a Aeroad CF 8.0 but Canyon told me it's out of stock now until the 2013 models which are still months away and I sort of want a new bike sooner rather than later.

I think I'm still leaning towards the Canyon, but those Cosmic Carbones sure are sexy. From a durability and practicality point of view are the Ksyrium Elites probably more suitable for general use?

I ordered a Rose Xeon CRS 3100, I was swayed by the configuration options and the enticement of Cosmic Carbones for only about £250 extra.
