+1 Had a chat with him in Notting Hill Gate last year. Told him I saw them at the Lyceum in 77'. He couldn't remember me in the crowd

Aztec Camera where my Guilty Musical Pleasure , then Mick Jones and "Good Morning Britain" meant I could finally own up to it.

Was fortunate enough to meet Terry Hall when MTBing in the Peak District (Totally unrelated I know) but equally brillant bloke.

We used to have school trips to see bands. I remember there were two trips one week but my mum could only afford one, I opted for The Jam over The Clash  (because I fancied one of the mod girls).

I never saw The Clash and I've never fully got over that decision I made as a 15 year old on a wet Wednesday afternoon in 1980 in Ilfracombe Comp changing rooms after rugby.

I remember Tony Ford telling me in French  that The Clash were a better band than Stiff Little Fingers (who I saw 3 times with the school and many other times since). Tony you were spot on mate...

It's sinful, it's tragic, he hasn't change at all apart from being greyer and fatter
