Corratec - opinions?

So...

I'm new to cycling (or returning, depending on your perspective on department store MTBs). After a trip around Rathlin Island last month on rented bikes, I thought I'd try and get back into it - decided a hybrid would suit my needs best, looking for something to handle both roads and relatively light off-roading. I'm also on a budget, and they're generally cheaper, so that's good too.

After a *lot* of searching, I found this:
Corratec X-Vert Cross Base Bike 2011
£274 (RRP £499).

Does anybody have much experience with Corratec hybrids? Am I getting my money's worth? Online opinion seems scant. Also, being a hopeless newbie, I've no idea if the component set is appropriate for it's pricetag..? £300 maximum is my budget.

Any info on Corratec bikes in general would be useful, if no one knows about this particular bike...

Thanks!
