BB91 and 2,5mm spacer

I used search function, but anybody didn´t have the problem I do.
Well, the frame is Scott Scale 30 and bb needs replacing, because the LH bearing is stuck or rusty. BB shell width is 89,5mm. With this bb shell width I have to use 2,5mm spacer, between RH bb cup and frame (acording to Shimano teh doc). When I removed old bb, there wasn´t this 2,5mm spacer. Do I have to put this spcer in?
Everything worked fine, exept this rusty bearing.

If it all worked fine before i'd replace like for like with no spacers.0
