Just finished building up my new summer bike (if we ever see a summer that is!!)
Can't wait to take it out for a good spin and see how it feels compared to my old Gran Fondo.

Frame - Ribble Stealth
Wheels - Bontrager rxl
Bars/Stem - FSA Plasma
Chainset - FSA SLK light
Groupset - Ultegra 6700
Pedals - Time I-clic carbon
Saddle- Selle italia kit Carbonio
Tyres - Schwalbe Ultremo ZX

It definitely seems lighter than the GF but not had a chance to check it yet.

Just ordered some 38mm carbon clinchers from china so will put up a couple of pics once they arrive. Hopefully I will have had a chance to get out and give it a thrash.

  • Just put some new 38mm carbon clinchers on. Ordered them from china 2 weeks ago and I'm very impressed with them.

I also swapped the brakes to the grey ultegras. Rides like a dream

Nice looking bike. Whatever you do don't ruin it with pink bar tape and pink tyres like the missus has done with hers...

Dirty Monkey - thinking of getting one of these built up with campy centaur. Interested to know what you are comparing this with when you say how nice it rides. Also what frame size is that?

hey nice looking bike, coincidently I've just ordered a frameset myself and also have a granfondo

how long ago did you buy that? I ask as one of the other chaps who bought one a few weeks ago got his with internal gear cables so I was wondering whats going on with these frames at ribble. I asked ribble but surprise surprise...

Have you got an exact weight for the wheels, ex skewers and tyres etc ?
    Stiffness, spoke tension ok ?
How many miles have you got on them so far ?
They're just the ones I was considering !
    25th August 2013 12hrs 37mins 52.3 seconds 238km 5500mtrs FYRM Never again.

Unfortunately I can only really compare this to my gran fondo, which I was extremely happy with. It's a 52.5

I ordered it just over a month ago. That's a bit annoying as I'd much rather had one with internal gear cabling

Mine were 1480g all together. The stiffness and spoke tension is really good, I did think that when I ordered them I may need to tension them up a little bit, but they seem perfectly good for now. I've only got 50 or so miles on them at the moment due to the weather being so crap. Very fast feeling though.

yeah i understand your frustration if it is the case that they have changed. I fancy internal also but I'd be happy with external cables also. what bothers me is that I dont know what I'll get as the never make it clear when the make design changes to frames

It'll take a while as they take each frame and check it over before they send it. I think mine was 2 weeks from ordering it to it being delivered.

Even if this is true why would ribble need to stop selling the bike? Surely they would just change the name? How can Shimano TM a name thats actually a word? I bet the USAF are worried. what will they call their covert fighter jets?

I'm sure the bike will still be for sale, it just wont be under the stealth name for much longer.

Her team's kit is pink, actually looks really good in the flesh, just need a nice day to get some shots of it in the sunshine before it gets dirty again!

just wondered if you coudl give some details on where you ordered the wheels from china from? I'm on a cheap budget and need a reliable company.
  • Mine were from here http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Carbonwheels20 ... 4340.l2563
Took about two weeks from ordering to being delivered, pretty much half of that waiting in customs!

received my frame+forks+headset yesterday very happy indeed. It came with the internal cable adaptors although I'm not sure how much I like them tbh. Look a litte cheap.

coincidently I noticed they have now changed the name of the bike on the website as mentioned before

Had an email from ribble today. From August the stealth name will be dropped and all new bikes will have internally routed cables. Currently only one of the sizes are shipped with internal routed cables.
  • Hi, nice looking bike, was just wondering what make is the mounting for your garmin?
    Thanks.
  • It actually came with the bars, FSA plasma. It just bolts on to the underside of the stem
  • Just started to get this out of hibernation in the hope we see some sun soon

I got rid of the Chinese clinchers as I needed some wheels for London to Paris which I'm doing this year, but I've also managed to pick up a set of 50mm equinox tubs for cheap which I couldn't turn down. I also changed the chainset as the FSA had come away from the axle (too much power I reckon  ) Got the 3D+ from Germany so worked out much cheaper. I'm in the process of getting a saddle as the white one I had just didn't really look right with all the black

Nice bike.. :) but some more stealthy parts, like 3t ARX team Black edt. Stem and handlebar, also Black bartape, and Black Carbon saddle, Would in my opinion make it soooo cool :)

    But definently Nice :)
