Trying to get a young lad back up and riding after crashing his bike. He has cracked the gear shifter pod and the adjuster barrel now does nothing apart from flap in the breeze. Tried aralditing everything together which lasted all of 10 seconds. Its a SRAM mech with no adjuster on the mech and the only obvious solution is a new shifter pod but as he is a poor student was thinking of cheaper ways of getting him moving, spotted these

I know they are for racer bikes but has anyone tried them on a MTB. Do they offer enough adjustment for a SRAM X7 mech.
