Question, does this require any grease of any sort? Is carbon paste just for carbon to carbon? I ask this as I remove the seat occasionally to transport the bike and the last couple of occasions it's been a real struggle to remove/re-fit.

    Yes, preferably "assembly paste" to stop the post / shim slipping or seizing.
