Have just found a 2012 Addict CX under half price and was wondering if it would pull double duty as a decent roady as well as long as it isnt too stiff for longer rides. Have just sold a tricross and that was supremely smooth on the road compared to my CAAD 9.

Buy it, and if you find it too stiff let 5psi out of your tyres. Job done.

Fit a pair of Schwalbe Ultremo ZXs in 28mm, run them at 5-6bar and enjoy the ride!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

It's likely it rides like the road Addict isn't it? In which case it'll be on the firm side (the Addict's a very stiff frame) but perfectly bearable. Wheel choice and tyre pressure can make a significant difference too.
