I need to replace/upgrade my Deore LX M580A front mech but I’m not having any success googling it. Has it been superseded? If so, anyone know the new part number? It has 66 (deg) - 69 (deg) marked on it too and an “FJ”.
I would like to replace the shifters also. Happy to upgrade to better if available.
Many thanks.

I may be a minority of one but that doesn't prevent me from being right.

yup any of the 9sp mech'swill be fine but there are a couple of variations, there are the compact type that hinge up from the clamp or the type that swing out from the clamp above the mech, just match the type you have, deore is M5** series, slx is M6**,xt is M7**, Saint M8** and Xtr M9** to help work out the codes! Lx is basically what Slx is now,Timmo.

Just one thing I didn't mention is that you need a mech that fits your frame. Bolt holes and suspension get in the way. If the band is above the outer ring it's conventional, if not it is bottom swing, which I prefer if you have the choice.0
