Hi all, Is there a rack avaialble for a pannier that is not truly horrible to look at? I'm sick of doing commute with a backpack and with my laptop its just too heavy.... I looked at some in cycle surgery today and hate the sight of them!
MTB or Road - They are both good!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I reckon something like the Tortec Velocity looks better than some, but it doesn't have such a large area on top which can be useful for some loads.
  • Kelly Brook? :D

I use Topeak Super Tourist DX Tubular Rack w/disc Mounts, does the job for me
    Roadie: Cannondale CAAD10
Commuter/everything else: Custom build Genesis Croix de Fer

I use a Carradice super C saddlebag with bagman support. Much slicker than a rack and panniers I think.

Another vote for Tubus racks, I have a couple, look the biz, easy to fit, great quality... but are pricey.

Surely how the look doesn't matter as they will be covered by panniers?

Just switched to rack & panniers on the commuter but I'm not convinced they're better than a backpack for short journeys. I definitely notice the weight more than I did with a backpack and it makes the bike much less agile.

Tried this for a year but the bag has started to wear on the bagman support and all of the straps have had to be reattached by Carradice. Given up and am now using a Halfords bike rack with Ortileb front classic rollers
