50mm carbon wheels

Does anyone knw if there is much advantage performance wise betwwen 50mm carbon wheels and 24mm nice light well made wheels

    In simple terms yes, however design & cost needs to be factored in as you might find a high end shallow wheel rim appears (in testing) to be more aero than a cheap deeper section.
    Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
