Nothing else to talk about so, Stéphane Poulhiès (Saur-Sojasun) took the first stage in a bunch sprint. There appears to have been a split with a load of riders including Voeckler and Tiernan-Locke at 22 seconds back.

    Stage 1 done & the legs felt great! Nothing like a month on the turbo for form. Crash at 4k to go cost me time but happy to have avoided it!
