Sq. Taper B/B. Removing 1/2 the plastic sleeve.

The plastic sleeve cracked on the bottom bracket when I was removing it for a service, leaving half of it stuck inside the frame. Any ideas on the best way to get it out? I was thinking along the lines of employing a threading tool to more or less chew the plastic out. This would give me the added bonus/excuse of finally buying one of these tools.
