What bikes???

Hi im looking to buy a good mountain bike. My budget is £400 .
Im using it long rides, mtb and shorts trips around the city. What bikes would be good???

    I'd take a look at the Voodoo and Carrera bikes at Halfords, as well as the Decathlon Rockrider 8.0.

    Do you know if the carrera centos is any good??
    Or the vulcan???

    The centos looks good for the money. I wouldn't go for the vulcan at the price it is now, it's heavy and doesn't offer much improvement over the centos from what i can gather. You get hydraulics with the vulcan and nothing else upgraded really. I'd go for the centos for the weight drop, almost 2kg lighter than the vulcan! (If the published spec is to be trusted).

    Go and buy a Carrera, Voodoo, or Rockrider as mentioned above. Or save up twice as much for something else :-)
