Anyone rode along Houndkirk Road from Ringinglow to Fox House recently? We were talking about routes at work and this cropped up but from my memory of walking the dog over there before Christmas, I seem to remember that the road was carved to smithereens by 4X4’s and can only imagine it being accessible by only the more extreme mountain bikers. Would be a decent route if passable? Any thoughts?

    Houndkirk road used to be OK until a couple of years ago some unsympathetic repairs(similar to Chapel gate and the screaming mile)ripped the soul out of the trail and turned it into nothing more a fireroad with a view :roll:
    Even now it's still a bit dull and not what I'd call hardcore at all.I suppose a complete novice might find it intimidating but we rarely bother with it as its just a bit meh now.
