Hi all,
Just joined the forum and looking to get into MTBing again after a good 10 year break so looking at a hardtail 29er and particularly liked the look of the Cubes and can stretch to £750.
Initially looked at the Acid 29er but thought I might be able to call up Bike-Discount.de and knock them down 80-90 Euros on this Cube LTD Pro 29 http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1275/ ... html?lg=en so it falls in budget as a few other posters have got then to bring prices down a bit.
I'm probably going to do 60% road and gravel tracks and 40% MTB trails and will be taking the bike to oz when we emigrate in September.
Opinions please.........ta !

Nice bike, bargain if you could get it for £750. Minor problem is it's out of stock.

Oh damn, it was in stock this morning !!
  • You have to be quick with the Cube 29s - hardly any stock in the UK when they were released.
Most had been ordered in advance before they had even got of the manufacturing line. The spec and price was too good to miss.

So can the retailers order more or is that it until the 2013 bikes ??
  • My dealer isn't sure. They have sold out of the 2012 models, but Cube won't say whether they will do another run. My dealer suspects no.
They reckon there will be a few about, but you'll have to do a bit of searching to find them.

Good looking spec, could do with a bit more styling, will definitely take a look, cheers :)
  • Got one through Bike to Work Scheme from Lake Leisure Bikes - which for me on 40% tax means I'm paying about £480 for it based on the full price of £975. They ordered one from Germany which I waited six weeks for and didn't even raise an eyebrow when I asked for it ... 2 1/2 months ago.

Climbs like a wild thing and terrific cross country (and I live in the Cotswolds so its perfect round here) but went playing on some single track at Bracknell a week or two back and was immediately wondering why I'd left by 26" full-sus at home

Really good at what it's designed for, but that's not gnarly single track

    Best of Luck
  • Oh yes - if you do get one check for play in the headset and length of gear cables before you accept it. Local assembly left a bit to be desired.
