Driving home on Monday, I had a couple of near misses (neither my fault) and noticed that generally, people were driving like 'king prats. I saw one van driver nearly on two wheels coming into a 30mph zone off an island, and he was literally snarling because there was standing traffic and he had to brake. Later I was undertaken on an off slip-road because I was only doing a mere 70mph.

I arrived home to find that England's wakners were playing the football and it had started at 5pm. That was why!

If you're out on your bikes when match time = knocking off time, just be careful out there.

The older I get, the better I was.

Won't happen again. The next two England matches are evening KOs and if they do scrape through to the knock out stages they're all evening matches too.

And on the bright side, a high proportion of the moron drivers are showing themselves with warning flags on their cars!

On the positive side, if you commute home after 5pm the roads were quite a bit quieter.

I thought they might be but I drove home with Eng v Fra on R5 and the roads were as busy as ever.
