Hi there,
Brand new to the forum.
I have a Cannondale Supersix with a FSA Gossomer BB30 compact and Ultegra setup.

I'm wanting to change the compact chainset to a standard double (can't get used to the compact). What options in chainsets do I have? would the SRAM red work ok with the ultegra mechs (just upgraded from 105 to Ultegra...levers, f r mechs and callipers) or would i have to stick to FSA?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks....Mark

Sram force offers best value IMO. very light.

    Just replace the 34 with a 36.

This means you will be 1 sprocket to the right compared to a 53/39 chainset. Cross over speed at about 20 compared to 22 on a 53/39

When the compact "arrived" it came 50/36 only with the invention of the MAMIL did shimano decide 50/34 was "better".

Much cheaper to just replace the inner ring.

You'll pick up a BB30 53/39 FSA SLK light on EBay for a fraction of the rrp, i've got a couple of mates that off-loaded standard chainsets on new bikes and got roughly £130 for a £450 chainset.
Folk don't seem to want a standard chainset anymore, the Sram red seem to keep their price more.
