RockShox Maxle 20mm

Any one able to help me out with some info.
I had to borrow a axle at the weekend.
I borrowed what I think was a Maxle light 20mm - it only has compression expanders on one side where mine that I assume is a regular Maxle 20mm has compression expanders on both sides of the axle.
Basically the Maxle with only one expander on did not work as the wheel no matter how tight I did it still had play. Problem was not there when I used mine with expanders on both sides.
Anyone else found this? Am I correct about the difference between normal and lite versions?

That I've never been able to find out as I think the fork was a special and came on a bike OE.
The fork is a Reba 120mm with 20mm axle C2010 - never been able to find the fork for sale on its own.0
