Shimano / Sram compatability?

I have Sram XO rear derallier and a Shimano XT front mech and just fitted Sram X9 trigger shifters and got rid of my Sram XO grip shift.....................are the trigger shifters ok and compatable with teh XT front mech?

i use sram shifters with a shimano front mechs have done for years never had any problems,,
it's just the rear mechs that aren't compatible. as they use different ratios.www.bearbackbiking.com

To clarify, the SRAM numbered are not compatable, SRAM named are, I'm running SRAM rocket shifters with Shimano mechs....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
