What's going on here? (Strava-related)

Looking at a local Strava input and found these rides
http://app.strava.com/rides/10577840

Look at the performance tab - there's something very bizarre about it - I've never seen a ride where the speed varies so little despite steep ascents & descents. Any thoughts on what's going on?

At 15mph?
Electric bike perhaps. Just noticed he says it's imported from Runkeeper - corrupted data?ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

A degree qualified Engineer that I worked with thought 15 mph was the maximum possible velocity of a bike :shock:None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
Must be corrupt data. No way you could do 6 hours and 8 hours on any form of road transport without slowing at a junction or something, and there is a seamless connection with a ferry.0

Careful now. He will soon have his new bling bike to live up to :PNone of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
If you create a route on bikehike you have to put an average speed in, and it puts that as the steady speed over the whole route.
Maybe he's done a ride but the phone battery died, so entirely innocently has then traced it out in bikehike (or equivalent) and then imported the gpx into strava. Purely to keep a track of his/her mileage, rather than trying to steal any KOMs.0 -

Could be - though he's done it twice if that's the case. He's certainly got a good haul of KoMs to go with itROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

I've just realised that my power to weight ratio would have to be about 25% higher than yours to be equal. There again, with you're girlie compact gearing...FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future
