Hi.Yet to fit my SRAM red cassette when my new wheels arrive. I do around 200-350 miles per week and just wondered how they wear? was thinking of getting a Dura ace cassette or an ultegra and save the SRAM for best wheels. Anybody had any experience of the red cassette. Just to add not the new type. Thanks

powerdome red cassettes last ages, they are machined from a block of tool steel

i just changed one after around 12000km as it was starting to give iffy shifting on the most used sprocket

fwiw i ride all weathers, so it gets quite a lot of rain and dust/grit, but i wipe the chain if it's wet or looking dirty, and every 2-3 months rotate chains to even out wear (fresh one goes on, dirty one gets a total clean and relube)

probably i could've tweaked the shifting to get longer out of it at the cost of more noise, but wanted to try one of the new ones, which are indeed *much* quieter
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
