dont go there expecting much,, it's a pretty small woods, there are a few trails i spotted when i been in there with the little un,, i seen a few bits of woodwork (little ladder bridges) and i mean little, i dont know if they still there i not been in the woods for around 12 months..
there's the 7 hills as it's known which has several jumps, (this is were i spent most of youth on the bmx,, spade in hand to) as i grew up in leigh before moving. if you follow the main path/bridalway through the woods and keep your eyes peeled you will see secrete trails,, i must state again i not been down there for aleast 12 months so they could be trashed, or there could be even more..
i know when i was a teenager the council used to demolish our hard work and level our jumps...
there is a few bridalways/old trainline routes you can do round there,, to put a few mile in say around 6-8 mile..www.bearbackbiking.com

Where was this? I'm definately not saying I'm the next Danny Hart, but I find most of Rivington rideable, as it is mostly at least rollable0 -
erm the road between belmont and rivington barn, we had just crossed the farmers field and followed a sign for "public footpath" but could not find a path and it was just long grass, and boggy land.Whyte 801

Ah right, yeah it can get boggy up there, especially after the weather we've had!
Where in Westhoughton do you live scottbramwell? I'm behind Westhoughton Cricket Club0 -
There are a few scary bits up around rivington
I reckon that is certain doom.Papa? Nicole0 -

You should PM me whenever youre out, most nights I'm up for a cheeky ride

We have thankfully
Off to Lee Quarry tommorrow, hoping the slog from Rochdale train station isn't that bad0 -
Now not off to Lee Quarry, but around rivington instead, anyone game for lunch time and after?0
-
I'm a stones throw away from westhoughton high school on bolton road compo.
I'm hoping to get out on the bike this weekend or next 7th, 8th or 14th, 15th.
I would like to llandegela, but looking doubtful, waiting for mr.kerr to return from his holidays.Whyte 801

If you're going anywhere local give us a PM. No transport here so unfortunately cannot do the longer haul trips0
-
I'm off up Rivington this evening, if the weather stays dry, if anybody wants to tag along0
