How you would describe the condition of it? What is wrong?
Also, what bb or chainset do you have?A much loved, Giant Trance X3 20100 -
If its a hollowtech 2, consider backing off the LH arm a little. People often overtighten them and that not only causes it to feel tight, but will shaft your bearings quickly. It needs to be only tightened on enough to take up slack, no more.A Flock of Birds

It has a Shimano Deore, External BB and deore chainset.. TBH I've not been on it for atleas a month now its now only used to go on a road ride as I've a new MTB.
Its bin tight like this before I've just squirted a bit of lube down where the crak is fixed to the BB.Regards Bazza

Lube like that is pointless, the bearings are sealed so the lube won't get in them!
Reset the preload as Ben has said.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

no you will be ok using your finger as the adjustment screw shouldnt be tight. just loosen the two pinch bolts, wind out the adjuster and then tighten so it only just takes out any end float. I did mine with my finger, was really easy.
And I do have the tool to do it aswell just didnt need it0 -
just watched some tips on youtube looks like a need a few things maybeRegards Bazza

If it was working and has been standing, likely the bearings are a bit rusted. They aren't sealed very well.I don't do smileys.

If it was fine before, and no one has fiddled with it, there shouldn't be anyway it's randomly tightened up so shouldn't need adjusting.I don't do smileys.
