Bike storage

I need some help here and it's going to decide whether I move house or not, so I could really do with some ideas.
I'm looking at a new rental property and frankly it's stunning. I could really see myself living in this place and it's 2 doors up from one of my cycling mates!
The big problem is that there is nowhere to store my bikes. There's no rear garden (this is a plus for me!) and no shed / garage available.
I had a chat with the landlady and she's happy for a ground anchor to go in (need to do some checking on this as well) but there is still no enclosed area for the bikes.
There is however a 3' wide passage that runs the length of the house at the back behind a lockable gate and the landlady is amenable to putting another gate in front of a covered area at the far end. The covered area is open to the elements but does have a sloping slated roof running water off onto the adjoining properties roof and into a drain. This means that there is a gap though which means the elements can get in.
This is a show stopper for me as it obviously means the bikes will be permanently exposed to the cold / damp / etc depending on the weather.
So... would something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Weatherproof-Ou ... pd_cp_sg_3 work?
Could you run a ground / wall anchor through it? Does it actually keep the bikes dry?
Anyone got any other ideas? Inside is not possible and I don't want to build a bike shed at the front as this would just advertise where to go.

If you've got room for one of those tent things (which I'd give a year at most if outside constantly with the UV degradation), then haven't you got room for something from Asgard?

Not cheap, but then neither is replacing the Madone and Tricross when the insurance decides that a ground anchor on its own isn't sufficient. When the padlock jammed on my 4-bike version (freak occurrence - may be linked to litt'un playing with sand), it took a locksmith 2 hrs to get in. Admittedly he was trying not to damage it, but was still impressed at its robustness.
EDIT: This one might be better

Just found those myself - they're so good I think that they could go in front of the house. There's a high fence at the front hiding a seating area - it could go there in the corner.Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Although that bracket looks as secure as swiss cheese, it shows the tent has a hole in it through which a more secure arrangement could be achieved...Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0 -

In that picture would it not be possible to just extend that coil and take it over the handlebars of the bike? Whoever tried to lock that up needs teaching how to put the lock *through* the frame.0 -
