Fork Choice?

I need to make a decision on forks and thought I would put it out there to see what the general feelings are.
The Nomad C came with tapered Lyrik rc2l forks (bought in April 2012) and I have a set of 1.1/8 Fox Talas rc2 FIT forks from my reign that I could fit.
The Lyriks are newer but I have never owned a Rockshox fork so am uncertain of their reputation or reliability. I have always had Fox forks, know them well and like them. I have all the tools to service them myself.
Which is the better of the two forks for trail riding and would you advise the Fox forks with spacers/shims to make them fit the nomads head tube or should I just sell both forks and get something else?
