Would love to support this with my entry but the internet info on it is so sketchy I have no idea what I'd be getting for my £25 compared to a long ride on these, my local roads.

Innerleithen MTB Racing website says "no entries" yet for the 100 mile event that's fairly imminent. British Cycling website has little info. I can't find any route data or info on feed stops etc. on either website. I'm finding it hard to get excited about this one.

Does the original posting not breach the forum rules as commercial advertising?

Full routes have only gone on to the site today: http://www.facebook.com/events/350178535043567/
Unfortunately the BC site doesn't allow editing of event information.

Would be great if you could support Marie Curie on your (and my) local roads :)

I don't believe so - nothing commercial about this event as every single penny raised goes to Marie Curie Cancer Care. Happy to discuss with moderators if there is an issue however.

Can anybody give some info on the route as the mapometer keeps crashing on my PC. Despite living far away I just about know every road in this area from Lasswade to Newcastleton really well. Know all the good climbs, Stow, Witchey Knowe(or the swires as other call it), Talla etc and was wondering where it goes.

    Hi Brian,

Both routes start and finish in Innerleithen. The 100 mile route is the 100k route with an extra loop.

Innerleithen - Paddy Slacks to Gordon Arms - down to Yarrow - over the Swire/Witchey Knowe - down through Ettrickbridge - over Woll Rig to Ashkirk - over Cringlie Law and down to Harden - up through Roberton - over Alemoor and Little Bleak Law and down to Tushielaw - up and over Berry Bush to Gordon Arms - and back over Paddy Slacks to Innerleithen.

For the 100 mile, the route turns right after Traquair instead of crossing the Tweed - follows the "back road" all the way to Peel - through Caddonfoot and Clovenfords - heads through Newhall and Bowland - drops down to Stagehall - up the valley on the "back road" to Fountainhall and on to Sandyknowe - turn through Heriot Village and follow to Garvald Lodge - turn left and climb gently to the Pipers Grave ready for the final 10k all downhill to Innerleithen and a nice pint of Bear Ale :D

Cheers Dunks, what a route :!: For people who dont know this area I would urge you go for this sportive as you are in for a treat as it features some of the best roads in the Borders(and at times thats is good as it gets in Blighty, full stop for cycling).

I do this route myself or mostly in reverse quite a lot and some times add a little on by going down by Langholm and over to Newcastleton then Hawick or down by St Marys Lock, Moffat, Beef Tub and over the Talla. I always finish up by coming back the 'back road' from Caddonfoot, Heroit and back to Middleton where I park my car. What a road that is - its made for cyling and over the years i saw about 10 cars in total on that road :P

I have just made up my mind after writing this and if the weather is decent I am heading to that area at the weekend for a 150 mile route and take in a lot of the roads above.
