Have been cycling for a couple of years now and have increased the milage this year and seeing improvements. Last weekend i did a 200km Audax and next day had a shooting pain from my sit bone to my groin whenever i sat on anything hard (made my eyes water!!!) :?

Anyone had a problem like this or know any cures?

Thought it may have been just to prolonged saddle time but have done long rides before.
Summer: Condor Classico
Winter: Genesis Ather

Ive been battling a similar thing for a year now.

Ive had numerous scans etc - mostly clear. The latest theory is that it is all related to my back and that for whatever reason I am pressing on a nerve which gives me the pain.

It could also be pirifomis syndrome - so you might want to google that and do some of the stretches. As I said its been a year for me - its slowly getting better - I brought a selle smp trk saddle - which has helped - and I now ride around 20 miles without problems. I could probably do more - but until I find out what the problem is - I don't want to push on through the pain - as if you damage the nerves down there - you can end up with some awful injuries.

Let me know how you get on - or if you want further info.

More padding on your a*se should see an improvement.
Start wearing thick padded shorts if you have stopped using them.
