Firstly,i have a suspension lock on my new hardtail,should i lock this if i want to get more air on jumps?
can anybody reccomend good tyres for mud as mine slip in wet mud when i peddle hard.

yeh i know,i havnt jumped it yet anyway,i cant actually get more than half a foot of the ground xD.
are Full Suspension bikes good for jumping?0 -
Full sussers are more forgiving and cover up some riding inabilities, but I wouldnt recommend one over a proper dirt jump bike unless you're riding really big stuff.....considerably more than 1/2 a foot!0

Depends on what you call a jump, dirt jumps are different to jumps you get at trail centres, if you want to do dirt jumps a dirt jump bike is far better than a full suspension bike.
I have both and although I can jump with both the DJ is easier to chuck around but I wouldn't thrash that down a black route (even though it would do the job).
And to your question are FS any good for jumping, I clear 20ft-30ft table tops and can get 10ft in the air with not much problem, so they can be jumped but require a lot more effort from the rider to get them air bourne.0 -
