Hi, I have a Fox Float Evolution RL on the back of my Canyon. However, recently I've noticed a thin layer of oil building up after each ride.

Is this normal?

What can I do to fix this if not?

Cheers.

Keep an eye on it along with the pressure of the shock. I it's new, it could be excess fluid working its way out (sometimes happens) but should stop after a short period of time. Worst case is the seals have gone which are £17 to buy and easy to swap. You even get a little pack of float fluid to use too

Thanks. It's relatively new so hopefully it's just excess fluid as you said.

Perfectly normal. It should always be moist from oil on the stanchion. When it starts to get dry, its time to do a seal service.

Mines never done it from new (either bike both with fix rear shocks) that said I serviced them both this week and found next to 0 oil in them both! They are only supposed to have a couple of ml in, but they didn't even have that! Fox do say to service them every 30 hours though

A very thin film of oil shoul coat the stanchion during riding. If not that would suggest the seal is dry and wouldn't be helping stiction much!
