Struggling to fit DH tyres to 2011 Crossmax SX

I'm really pleased with the Crossmax SX wheels I bought last year at great expense - except for the fact it is a complete sod to fit and remove DH tyres. I know that the usual technique is to ensure that the bead is fully in the 'well' but with DH tyres without a kevlar bead it is really hard to get both beads into the well... Bust a tyre lever today and only managed to get a tyre off with help from others at UK Bike Park using very long levers - and even then it was far from easy. Any advice appreciated - otherwise I may end up taking a big hit and flogging them :?

Not a massive rim at 21mm internal width, what size tyre? Probably struggle to get anything over 2.35ish.. although the recommended tyre size is 2.0 to 2.5

I struggle (but succeed) to get 2.5 minions dual ply on my Superstar 595's and they're a few mm wider.

    What tyres?

    DH. Could be anything.

What I call DH tyres may not be what you have.

Schwalbe or Maxxis or Nokia or ........

Yup, should have been more specific - it was a 2.5 High Roller, the only DH tyre I had available. Are there any good all round DH tyres that are easier to fit in 2.35/2.5?

They're not proppa DH tyres like the 2-ply wired Minions but 2.5 folding 60a Minions are a doddle to fit and remove.

Also 2.4 folding Big Bettys are not too difficult ime they barely needed a tyre lever on Alex FR32 rims.

In fact I've yet to find a Schwalbe tyre of any description that's been hard to fit/remove - Nics, Ralphs, Alberts, Rons, Bettys they all just fall on/off the wheel
