After a pretty bad "OFF" last sunday being responsible for a trip to A&E followed by a week of nearly constant pain, sleepless nights and the prospect of taking anything from 6 weeks to three months to heal properly I have decided to change my riding style a bit.
I currently own a 2009 remedy 9 which is amazing for flying downhill buy not the best for burning back up or all day cross country jaunts. I still want a bike with a fairly slack head angle incase I still want to let rip on some more knarly stuff but I would like to be able to ride it all day comfortably.
So far I have been looking at a lapierre Zesty or a Trek Fuel EX as I think 120/140mm travel would be ideal really.
Any suggestions of other bikes I might be overlooking would be great.

Well, the more I ride my Marin Wolfridge, the more I like it. It climbs like a mountain goat, and descends like a DH bike. It's not particularly lacking in any aspect. So, try and get a demo on the newer Marin bikes - the Mt Vision has always been a capable do-it-all machine.0

what about the Giant Trance. Fantastic bikes that you can ride all day, yet still feels like a 140/150 bike.0

Oh, and don't get hung up on travel. The bike's design will affect the ride far more than the available travel.0
