Why did you get rid of the Kysrium Elites?! They are excellent wheels. IMHO they would have looked far better on that frame then those white monstrosities you have on there now.
The Scott symbol is in silver? If so, it would have been better to go for the 3T LTD post and stem. Not sure about those bottle cages either. Perhaps the white Elites with red detailing would have been more appropriate?
Beautiful frame and GS, let down by bad wheels and finishing kit. IMHO of course, this is subjective.0 -
Looks like you need to go a size down?
The stem is far too short and there is no seatpost showing!0 -
Coolio... nice wheels.0
-
Eye of the beholder and all that but I like the wheels and bottle cages. Far too many all black stealth bikes around at the moment.0
-
What the actual FECK?! You swapped out Ksyrium Elites for those?! Madness.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

Have to agree - "Draw Something" wheels - get the Ksyriums back!0
-
Hahaha... Actually I've kept the Ksyrium Elites (well keeping them new to be SOLD).
The AClassics where from my previous bike (>1,000km on them), and I'm keeping them more for functional reason. They spin and roll really well. Bike radar's review on them... http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/wheel-sets/product/review-american-classic-420-aero-3-wheelset-11-44596
And yeah, its more of a re-butt to all those stealth black bikes (nothing against them), I ride with a couple of those (Specialized Venge) black beyond black bikes. By my thots where, those Mavics would probably be not much better than these ACs if at all....
Oh, waiting for a pair of Carbon Bottle Cages, those are Interim I guess...
With the Ksyrium Elites, kinda just make the bike look... OK... so stock... hahaha.

Miles better!
Ksyrium elites are the best wheels out there in terms of performance:pound in my opinion.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

Ahhh from the Krsyrium reviews.. I can see you are a big fan.
Ok, maybe I should give them a shot. But there's worth about 500pds ($1000 Singapore dollars) withthe cassette and tires where I come from. They won't hold value once I've used them.NapoleonD wrote:Miles better!

I have owned the following wheels and came to this conclusion myself (I bought them as a stop gap but have decided they are that good I'll keep them):-
Mavic Aksium
Mavic Ksyrium Equipe
Mavic R-Sys (Borrowed for a couple of days - absolutely amazing but very expensive)
Shimano Dura Ace C24-CL
Zipp 404/808
Campagnolo Bora Ultra 2
Various handbuilt
Chinese Carbons off of eBay.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

I'm back...
Made some seat adjustments, had the stem replaced. (But I'm still on my AC420s)
Went for a quite a few good rides, and try to continue getting the bike as comfortable as possible.
Took a ride along the coastal area in Singapore and started to explore a bit..
Seat height still needs some tweaking.
Then out with a whole group of riders for an early morning ride.
Seat height adjusted higher... and posing with buddy's Cannondale (Both our bikes came stock with Mavic Ksyrium Elites)
And just last night... while waiting for the group.
Took a night shot... hmmm not very good quality.. can't expect super stuff from a phone's camera..
Well Hope all you guys are having fun with your bikes!
LONG LIVE cycling.... Love it..0 -
Thank got you swapped the stem!
Looks great now!0 -
jasonowl wrote:Hello folks,
Managed to swap out the stock Mavic Ksyrium Elites and put on my American Classic 420 Aero 3.
Had my first "get comfortable with the bike" ride, still a bit more adjustments to work on.
But man, Carbon Bikes = Sweet Sweet ride.
Hope to upload a couple more pics soon.
Ride on everyone!
Mmmmm... colours. I don't 'do' colours so I got the 2011 version which is various shades of grey.

nice bike, i would suggest a decent bike fit befor you swap anything else your saddle height varies in nearly every picture and its never level, and your saddle to bar drop seems almost zero at times? do you go touring? I think you would gain a lot from a fit. esp if your thinking of buying another bike0
-
Thanks for the tip! Yeah... I've been mucking around with the saddle height... need to get that sorted out.
I think I will go a size down if I do get another bike. This CR1 is a 52 (next size down was a 49), I may actually be more of a 51 or 50.
Yup I do more Club rides, and centuries(km) almost every weekend if I can.
Cheers! I find it hard to believe that you spent all that money on a bike, without knowing that it is the right size for you.
The best value for money thing that you can buy for your new bike is to get a proper bike fit done before you start to look for a bike!0
