not quite at 6 o'clock with the pedals, but do I look ok here? Not had any real problems apart from feet jumping out on steep uphills sometimes

apologies for non-matching outfit

  • looks like you could do with a slightly longer stem, you are fairly upright on the hoods, unless you are comfortable there?
feet jumping out on steep hills could be down to the tension in your pedals.
    what pedals do you have?
if shimano or LOOK it can be adjusted with a 3/4mm (not sure which)
  • I am comfortable where I am though can always do with tips on getting more power down

bike is an XL Giant Defy 3.5
I'm 6'3" - so a longer stem might be helpful

  • in that case a longer stem will be helpful it will trim the outer leg angle which should be at 30degree's when pedal at 6o'clock
if you think if you are more over the bike like time trialist setups you use the bigger muscles in the body producing more power
  • Cool, thanks

    any stem make recommendations?

  • something that goes with the bike... what bars have you got?
you can usually pick up good deals on Deda and 3t which I personally like.
what length stem is on the bike at the minute? 100mm?
if so i'd go for 110mm just slight changes otherwise it may upset the rhythm
  • Bike is 100% stock item from Giant to be honest - I'd need to measure it and get a slightly longer one

will look at deda and 3t

    Cheers
