Headset crownrace / Pepperoni Forks query

Hi,
Can someone please offer me some advice.
I have a 1995 Cannondale I've restored which has front suspension forks (Rock Shox Judy I think) and I will be swapping them out with rigid Pepperonis as it's a road use only bike and I think they may be seized anyhow (limited travel).
The pepperonis come with a crownrace fitted, do I have to take the one off my existing forks and swap it?
It was a sod to fit on the Rock Shox when I changed it originally is all & I'm worried I may damage it on removal/refitting and with being the 1 1/4" isn't a common part now.
Also I understand some of the Pepperoni forks suffered stress fractures and were recalled.
How do I know if my forks are the suspect ones as I'm over 100kg and the thought of suddenly having no front wheel is a little worrying?
Can someone please offer me some advice.

Crown races are headset specific. So you have to use the one that came with the headset.
Info in the FAQs and Parktools."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks nicklouse I thought as much.
Just thought that it might not be quite so specific for a threaded headset.
Wishful thinking really.
Thanks again though for your prompt answer0 -
Did no think hey did threaded 1 1/4 headsets.
Thought they were all aheadsets."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Wish it was it would have been easier to find forks.
Should've bought a conversion but was originally gonna stick with the Rock Shox.
Think it's 1995 but may be a year or two earlier, they're common to early Fischer and Cannondale I believe.
That's why I don't want to take any chances with the crownrace, it was a very rare NOS headset!0 -
Makes little difference just fit reducers and use a 1 1/8 headset and fork."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
