mixing alu and carbon rims

Other than looks, are there any issues with combining an alloy clincher at the front with a moderate to deep section carbon clincher at the rear? I'm thinking about getting a rear wheel built on a powertap hub and it occurred to me that a deep section carbon rear clincher might be almost the best of both worlds in offering some aero advantage and stiffness, while retaining the alloy rim at the front where most of the braking force is.

No issues. Remember the power tap has a very big flange, combined with a very big rim, you are limited to the crossing patterns you can use, to avoid weird nipple angles. 2 crossed is probably the most you can do. You planning on 32 or 24 spokes at the rear?left the forum March 20230

I was looking at the new Enve 3.4 clincher, which is 24 holes I think. Can't justify the cost of a front & rear set however..0
