hi people's, got a little problem here :?
with our lovely british weather here and water getting in the frame now and then, possibly through the seat post. could this possibly ruin or affect the internal welds? there's is no hole at the bottom.
only asking because in all honesty these road bike's are a bit flimsy. if you put one hand on the handle bar and the other on the seat, place one foot on the pedal at 6 o clock position and gently stress you will be amazed at how much the frame bend's.
god know's what it goes through powering at speed  . I was given a demonstration on this today at a bike store.... any help :?:0 -
In all honesty, those bikes are not flimsy! All bikes flex when you do what you suggest. It was just a shock when you first saw it as you didn't appreciate how much flex there is. I've ridden two incarnations of an ancester of your bike, the Streetfire SSX and they've both been great bikes. If it wasn't for some light fingered git, I'd still have one. If you want to see flexy, then do the same on an old steel frame! That bike isn't supposed to be a super stiff pro level race bike that is the fashion today. In 2006 the streetfire SSX was used by the Phonak team at Paris Roubaix as it offered a more comfortable ride http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/photos/2 ... s/IMG_0098. What were the bike shop doing? Trying to sell you a new 'stiffer' bike?
And it's made out of aluminium. And, whilst aluminium does oxidise, Aluminium Oxide is non-permeable (as opposed to Iron Oxide (Rust)) so all a bit of water in the frame will do is make the bike heavier. If it's a problem, take out the seat post once in a while and let it run out.0 -
thanks pal, put my mind at rest. i suppose comfort is priority. once again thank you. naz.0

Hello mate,
I have a SR02 2011 and it is amazing, these are strong as an ox and as a Street Racer that's what they are meant to do, potholes are not a problem, as i have found out on many occasion commuting.
One thing i did was upgrade the wheels and it now feels like a new bike.
