Hi

New to these forums and have a question. I currently have a nice hardrock for sale and have had an offer of swapping it for a kona paddy wagon.

Is this worth more than the hardrock? It sounds like a good offer as I would still be selling it on but am concerned that it would be more difficult to sell than an mtb.

Cheers

WHat do you want from the bike? They are way different, and fixies are useless off road.

    No.
Unless you're a hipster. In which case, still no.

I dont want to keep it. Its just to make a bit of money on as the kona is the more expensive bike.

I should mention that my hardrock is the base model with vbrakes and would have cost around £300 new. The kona was about £600.

The only thing that is stopping me is how easy would it be to sell on compared to an mtb.

What does the Kona's owner have to gain from swapping it then?

I think he just wants to swap it as a quick solution. He said he cant get on with it

Sounds like a good deal as it also comes with a set of spds, a spare seat, calipers, bottle cages, chain rings and a couple of stems. As said I have no interest in riding it, just think i may be able to make a bit of money on it

OK, I was just checking because if it is worth more, I don't see why he wouldn't sell it and buy a mountain bike with the proceeds. Now I'm confused why he would include all of that stuff, some of which would be useful regardless of the bike he has! Anyway, each to their own...

Maybe he's struggling to sell it. I don't know anyone who would want one.

Stick it in the commuter section and it'll go in minutes!

That's a really scary place. Take a lot of money to get me there.

If you want a fixie for commuting / riding around town then yes, otherwise no. Bear in mind that fixies to take some getting used to...trust me. I lasted 2 days on mine before deciding I'd turn it into a singlepeed for my daily commute. Perhaps this is why this guys is trying to sell it? Some people swear by them; they cetainly divide opinion...

Looking at eBay there's a few of these paddy wagon things for sale, none with more than three bids on and that's running at £100 with almost two days to go.
