The idea to buy one from Canyon, Rose or YT for the parts occurred to me as well - reckon you could even turn a small profit :-)

Hopefully the if the Germans and Nukeproof bikes do well over here it might put a bit of price pressure on the more established brands.

Rose have the team edition Beefcake on offer at the minute for about £2800 for that you get Raceface Atlas cranks, Fox 40 RC2, Fox DHX RC4 shock, Continental Kaiser rubber mounted on DeeMax wheels. The spec is out of this world for the money, personally i'd go for a bike with 40's over a Boxxer as they feel more progressive compaired to the Boxxer
What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?

40's are nicer but they need a ridiculous amount of maintenance. Also I don't like Deemax wheels, Mavic make great rims but I don't like their hubs or complete wheels.
I had a play around on the Nukeproof today, just around a carpark & down a mildly rocky path & steep grassy slope. Suspension feels amazingly good, geometry feels spot on & the riding position is nice. Really like the X0 brakes. Just need to swap the X0 rear mech / X9 shifter for Saint (personal preference, I like Shimano shifters)and it's all good.
The frame looks bomb proof, solid around all the areas most likely to break on a DH bike. Paint finish could be a bit better.

If you do get one of these would be good to get a full ride report. I'm starting to take a shine to this bike :)

Agree, cracking VFM from Rose as well. I like the option to customise the spec as well (though doesn't seem to be available on the Team Edition).

The thing I'm not sure about on the Rose (and Canyon) DH bikes is whether they designed the frames as DH specific, or just took their freeride frames and bolted on the right DH kit/adjusted the geometry a little. Their websites show the frames being used for their FR bikes as well, whereas YT seem to have designed the Tues 2.0 as a DH specifi frame?
