After a cracking season last year (KBK & his maiden GT stage win) he signed a new contract at Sky - much to the delight of DB as there would surely have been a pretty healthy offer on the table from GreenEdge - but he has hardly raced this year. Is this illness or injury related or something more sinister?
Has anyone heard anything?

I was thinking that a while ago. He rode the cobbled classics so assume he's not had any major injuries.
I imagine he'll ride the Vuelta again this year where he'll probably get the main sprint spot. Cav joining must limit his opportunities, but he'd probably have known that when he signed. He seems like one of those guys whose maybe not desperate to win every race and is happy playing the team role quite often, if he went to Green Edge he'd have the same problem as he'd have to pick up the scraps from Matt Goss."I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0 -
He'll be at Ster ZLM Toer next, and is indeed doing the Vuelta.
He had a very busy start and spring, doing TDU as main sprinter (got hurt), Oman, and all the cobbled classics.
As inkyfingers said, Sky love him precisely because he's a great team rider. He'll get his chances at sprints, but riding Roubaix, Flanders etc is also a big deal.0
