I recently installed new hope rotors to my bike, my braking then became very poor I used sand paper to removed the high polish finish on the rotors to help braking and installed new pads, but still not getting the braking power I used to have. Any suggestions on how to fix this :?:

thanks

The pads may have got contaminated. Or you didn't bed them in correctly.

Lightly sand the pads, and clean the rotors again. Then do 20 consecutive hard stops with each brake.

The pads will have to bed in to h new rotor.

If you did not clean the rotor before fitting and then removed any grease that may have got on during fitting new pads may be needed.

Also di you reset he calipers?

  • Yea I cleaned the rotor with muc off disc brake cleaner before I fitted them, I never reset the calipers didnt know I had to do that. Not that clued up about the maintenance. I will also try and sand the pads aswell and see how that does.

    thanks
