Moral dilemma

A friend of mine - NOT Pilch, has a moral dilemma... so naturally I have come to the high moral ground of the cc for advice...on behalf of my friend.
Some time ago an item was ordered from a european internet retailer, said item was lost/not dispatched for some reason. The item was chased and was then delivered after a time.
Since then another identical item has been subsequently delivered by mistake...
Is it time to fess up and play the white man, or is it treasure me lad!, keep quiet and lose it for a time in the back of the shed, till the coast is clear?
I have my own views on this one...to advise my friend of course, just wondering what the crudders would do if such manor from heaven landed in your lap?

Sell it back to the European Internet Retailer!
I'd hold onto it though, we've done it quite a few times. After about 3 months, if they haven't chased it, then they can't really hold you to account anymore. It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

If there a set of brakes of XT flavour, i'm sure i could help returning them ?0

The fact that 'your friend' is asking means he has made his decision and just wants 'you' (us) to concur that we would behave with the same small minded big company fecked up mentality.
Afterall, if the company managed to take payment twice, by accident, would you want them to own up and be prroactive in returning your - sorry his - funds.
Now when Vodaphone delivered two phones I sold the other one straight away. But thats cos they're dicks. This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit.0 -
I'm a big believer in treat thy neighbour.... etc blah. Has happened once or twice with CRC and I've returned the superfluous/duplicated items.
Yea you may be up on the deal but
a) It would probably bother me in the long term i.e. theft
b) karmas a bitch (bad karma anyway)
If he/she neither has a conscience or gives a crap about this karma hoo haar then it's a win.Cube Hanzz Pro FRSquarepants wrote:It's not that I'm over over biked, my bike is under personed...0 -

Yep, what goes around, comes around, i'm no saint, if it was BT I wouldn't think twice, as they are lying, conniving, robbing, fkkers.... however as much as would be nice to have 2 of said item (sorry not XT brakes!), I think sending it back is the way to go... for my friend ;-)0 -
Email them... if your friend is lucky they will tell him to keep the items. Depends on the value, but there's a point at which it's not worth the hassle of taking them back, so they may just write it off to goodwill.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

The shop will have claimed the loss from the courier. So I'd contact them just for my own peace of mind.
I doubt that they'll want anything shipped back to Germany.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.

In the UK the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act applies, this says either 1) tell the retailer and give them 30 days to collect, or you keep it, or 2) do nothing, wait 6 months, then keep it.0

We sell stuff mail order (not for bikes) if someone comes clean they tend to be looked on favourably and we make a judgement according to the value of the item and the cost of getting it back. If it's a high value item we will usually give them something like a voucher to say thanks for your honesty.0

i would email them, if you are lucky, you will end up with a freebie, if not, they should atleast pay for the return and your conscience will be clear.
i have a terrible conscience and it wont allow me to do anything dishonest but i understand that other people are more bothered about going to hell0 -
What was the item?
If it was a dildo, use it then return it. And when I say use, I mean use on your friend and vice versa.0 -
Morally i'm an ass... I'd keep it...0
